Emergency Services Director Helps Get Modifications made To Michigan Ambulance Licensing Law

Emergency Services Director Chuck Cribley worked with State Senator Patty Birkholz to get Public Act 200 of 2004 approved in August. The law allows an ambulance operation, even though licensed at a lower life support service level, to provide services at the higher level when the ambulance operation is able to staff and equip 1 or more ambulances to provide services at that higher level. This allows Township EMTs to utilize both of our ambulances to the highest life support service levels when we have personel with advanced training available and advanced equipment ready to use, even though one ambulance is licensed at at lower level than the other.

Chuck attended the formal signing of the bill into law by the Governor on August 11.

The Township Board wishes to thank Chuck for all his efforts in attending meetings and testifying before the legislature to assist in getting this law passed.

Windsor Township Cemetery Bridge Built

A new bridge over the Old Maid Creek from Windsor Highway into the cemetery was constructed by volunteers led by Trustee Phil Kline .

Howell Company for the foundation installation, the Dimondale Public Works Department for helping move and place the trusses, Mark Premer for construction and all of the volunteer labor provided by the Dimondale American Legion Post 272.

Updates From The Emergency Services Department:

Services Available

Your Emergency Services department provides paramedic ambulance, fire, and rescue services to Windsor Township and the Village of Dimondale. We also respond to serious hazardous materials and suspected terrorist incidents county-wide.

Our personnel can help you decide where to install smoke alarms, help you design a home fire escape plan, and teach you how to use your fire extinguisher. We spend time at Dimondale Elementary school every month throughout the school year helping children understand fire safety issues.

Help Us - Help Your Community - Volunteer - Sign Up Today

Our department is heavily dependent on "volunteers". These are people, like you, from the community, who give of their time and talents to protect lives and property. They aren't really volunteers any longer, since they receive pay for calls and meetings. We provide the equipment, and the training, too.

Some of our members do just EMS, or just FIRE. You can do both if you want. Being on the Hazardous Materials Team is also an option. We can use people who just want to help with public education efforts, teach CPR, etc. Many of our members have used the training and experience to obtain jobs, or enhance their present careers. The training also enables them to do a better job of making sure their loved ones are safe. JOIN TODAY! Our station is at 300 W. Jefferson St. in Dimondale. Or call us at 646-0893.

Address Signs

We have the green and white address signs you have seen around the community. The signs really help us find you in a hurry, and they help others find you, too. Get an order form from the station, the hardware, the township office, or the village office. Cost is $12.

The Non-Emergency Phone Number at the Emergency Services Building is 646-0893.

A link to the Windsor Township Emergency Services Brochure is now available.
