REGULAR MEETING – JUNE 22, 2010
MEETING ROOM – 7:30 P.M.
Meeting was called to order by Supervisor Sue Butler with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Present:

Blust moved and Kline seconded to approve the agenda as printed. Carried
unanimously.
Marsh moved and Blust seconded to approve the consent agenda which
contained the minutes from the previous meeting. Carried unanimously.
Supervisor called the Public Hearing for the Establishment of a DDA
to order at 7:35 PM
Supervisor introduced Tory Niewiadomski from Jim Fould’s office.
Supervisor explained what a DDA does and does not do and explained that it would not
increase their taxes until developed or change their zoning unless they requested a zoning change.
She explained that the tax money that is captured from development can help attract
and help make improvements. Would like to see good improvements in the proposed area.
Jim Albertson 3165 Canal asked if the area around the old Mary’s and Davis property
were included - the answer is yes.
Victor Lewis 6370 News Rd asked about sewer and water and if this was the real area.
The area can not be made larger but could go smaller. Could help with sewer and water,
if needed. Blair explained that the sewer board would have to work on design as the plant
is geared to the areas currently in a sewer district. There could be extensions but would
explore as progress.
William Long 6574 News Rd asked if sewer and water can be put down a private road.
Not sure but no plans for it at this time.
Austin Robison 9453 Billwood asked how the map was developed. Supervisor explained
that went along
industrial. The parts must be contiguous and start and end at one point. They did hit a
couple of homes but the map is not concrete until the final plan. Was concerned as his
home in the district and neighbors not.
Jim Albertson 3165 Canal asked about the captured tax money going into DDA and would
it help with the area and attract businesses. That is the plan but no water & sewer at this time.
John Migaldi 10475 Hartland asked when this would take place. There is a 60 day hold
for comments from taxing units to respond. So nothing will happen until after that period.
Have told the county it would only last for 7 years.
Meredith Smith 6394 Windsor Hwy asked if school districts would be changed – no

Supervisor announced that nothing more would happen tonight and Trustee Blair told

Public hearing closed at 7:43 PM.
Sgt. Doug Burkhardt, Eaton County Sheriff Department. reported that we have had 112
calls with 60 being traffic in the past two weeks.
Blair gave report from Planning Commission.
Fire Chief Miller gave report from Emergency Service Department.

Clerk reported on upcoming August Primary.

Urns at cemetery are still being looked at.
Ryan Wilson introduced himself as a candidate for Probate Judge.
With no further business Marsh moved and Blust seconded to adjourn.
