WINDSOR CHARTER TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES

REGULAR MEETING – MAY 25, 2010

MEETING ROOM – 7:30 P.M.

                                                                                 

Meeting was called to order by Supervisor Sue Butler with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Present: Butler, Towsley, Blust, Blair, Kline, Marsh, Myers

Absent: none

Towsley moved and Blair seconded to approve the agenda as presented.  Carried unanimously.

Blust moved and Marsh seconded to approve the consent agenda which consisted of

the minutes of the previous meeting as amended (add 120 days to the resolution to establish moratorium on commercial medical marihuana).  Carried unanimously.

Sgt. Doug Burkhardt, Eaton County Sheriff Department, reported that we have 101 calls in the past two weeks with 51 being traffic related.  There was one B & E which has been solved.

Heard reports.

No unfinished or new business.

Sheila McCoy introduced herself as a candidate for Eaton County Probate Court Judge.

Chris Bedford 5578 Jimson stated that the house behind him at 5577 Eugene is an eye sore.  The lawn is not mowed and there are branches from a willow tree that was trimmed several years ago, a tractor tire, piece missing on house trim and has been vacant for 10 years.  The Health Department stated there is nothing they can do when they were called.

Tom Scallen 5596 Jimson feels the house is a fire hazard.

John Faculak 5538 Eugene stated there is a State Blight Law and that either Eaton County Sheriff or State Police can enforce it.

Kim Geyer 8899 Windsor Hwy is also concerned about the young children in the area and the house.

Elaine Ranshaw 5576 Eugene stated that she wants the township to develop a Blight Ordinance.

Butler stated that she will contact our attorney, other agencies and see what can be done.

Sgt Burkhardt will look into the state blight ordinance.

With no further business Blust moved and Marsh seconded to adjourn the meeting.  Carried unanimously.  Adjourned at 7:57 PM.
