REGULAR MEETING –
MEETING ROOM -
Supervisor St Clair called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Present: A. St. Clair, Towsley, J. St. Clair, Blair, Kline, Slucter
Absent: Marsh
Kline moved and Blair seconded to approve the agenda as amended. (adding resignation under New Business and Oaths of Office at end of reports). Carried unanimously.
Blair moved and Kline seconded to approve the consent agenda (which included minutes or previous meeting, treasurer’s report and general fund bills (21602-21653 & 18549-18614 totaling $92317.23) Carried unanimously.
Blair gave report from Planning Commission, Master Plan and Sewer Board.
Sgt. Doug Burkhardt, Eaton County Sheriff Department, reported that we have had 116 calls with 86 being traffic related.
Interim Fire Chief Miller gave report from Emergency Service Department.
Blair moved and J. St. Clair seconded to leave the pay schedules as is for the new employees. Carried unanimously.
Kline moved and J. St. Clair seconded to approve the purchase of new generator for 1151 at a cost of $1100. Carried unanimously. (note repairs would be $1300)
Towsley moved and Blair seconded to transfer $1100 from contingency to Fire Capital Outlay for the new generator. Carried unanimously.
Clerk reported on November election where we had a 81 % turnout with 24% voting absentee.
Clerk gave oath of office to the new Board of Trustees that were present: Supervisor Sue Butler, Treasurer Jerri Blust, Trustees Dan Blair and Phil Kline. Clerk was sworn in by Notary earlier in the day and the remaining two trustees will receive their oath when available.
Blair moved and Kline seconded to adopt the Fire Chief offer as printed and presented to Phil Miller. Carried unanimously.
Towsley moved and Blair seconded to reappoint Fran Johnson to the Planning Commission for a 3 year term starting November 20th. Carried unanimously.
Towsley moved and J. St Clair seconded to accept Thomas James Richardson resignation with regret effective November 7, 2008. Carried unanimously.
Larry Stephens of
Supervisor St Clair thanked Kern Slucter for his time and service on the Township Board and stated we will look forward to working with him in other areas.
Rep. Rick Jones presented Art & Jan St. Clair a resolution signed by the Governor, Senator Birkholtz and himself for their service to township government. Several other certificates and comments were made in their honor at this their last meeting.
With no other business J. St Clair moved her last motion and Kline seconded to adjourn the meeting. Supervisor banged the gavel for the last time since 1976 and adjourned the meeting at 8:10 PM. A social time followed the meeting in their honor.
