WINDSOR CHARTER TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES

REGULAR MEETING – SEPTEMBER 23, 2008

MEETING ROOM – 7:30 P.M.

Meeting was called to order by Supervisor St Clair with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Present: A. St. Clair, Towsley, J. St. Clair, Kline, Marsh, Slucter

Absent: Blair

Kline moved and Slucter seconded to approve the agenda as amended (addition of Presentation under Reports) Carried unanimously.

J. St. Clair moved and Slucter seconded to approve the consent agenda which is the minutes of past meeting as amended (removal of J before St. Clair under cemetery report).  Carried unanimously.

Sgt. Doug Burkhardt, Eaton County Sheriff Department, reported that we have had 207 calls from August 25 to September 21 with 124 being traffic related.

Cribley gave report from Emergency Service Department which included that we will be getting just under $6000 from FEMA for June storm damage.

Public Safety Committee Chairperson Kern Slucter presented Retiring Fire Chief Charles Cribley a Tribute, his Retirement Badge and a gift.  Slucter also presented a gift to Kathy Cribley.  Thank you to Chuck for over 25 years of service.

Slucter moved and Kline seconded to appoint Phillip Miller as the interim Fire Chief effective October 1, 2008 until a final selection is made.  Carried unanimously.

Supervisor handed out proposed copies of the 2009 budget and reviewed it.  Towsley moved and Slucter seconded to set the public hearing for the budgets for October 14, 2008 at 7:30 P.M.  Carried unanimously.

Marsh moved and Towsley seconded to authorize the Supervisor to indicate to the Eaton County that we will have a millage rate of 4.0 for 2008 tax bills.  Carried  unanimously.

Discussion held on possible ways to handle our assessing in the future.

With no further business Marsh moved and J. St. Clair seconded to adjourn the meeting.  Carried unanimously.  Adjourned at 8:20 PM
