WINDSOR CHARTER TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES

REGULAR MEETING - AUGUST 9, 2005

MEETING ROOM - 7:30 P.M.

 

 

Meeting was called to order by Supervisor St. Clair with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Present: A. St. Clair, Towsley, J. St. Clair, Blair, Butler, Kline, Slucter

Absent: none

 

Minutes of previous meeting were read and approved.

 

Public hearing for Sewer Ordinance change was called to order at 7:38 PM.  No public comments.  No board comments.  Public Hearing closed at 7:39 PM.

 

Blair gave report on Planning Commission and Sewer Board.

 

Sgt. Doug Burkhardt, Eaton County Sheriff Department, reported that we have had 101 calls in the past two weeks with 43 being traffic related.  There have been several auto and home break-ins. 

 

Cribley reported that runs are both up for fire and ambulance.  Retiring Firefighter Gene Littlejohn was not able to present but he was recognized for 30 years 6 months on the on call service.

 

Butler moved and Slucter seconded to appoint Alesha Stacy to the roster as an EMS trainee.  Carried unanimously.

 

Towsley gave report on August 2nd election. We had only a 12 % turnout with half the voters being Absentee.

 

Treasurer's report received.

 

J. St. Clair moved and Blair seconded to pay general fund bills totaling $86558.78. (Vouchers 15892-15956 & 18810 - 18867) Carried unanimously.

 

Towsley offered and Slucter supported the resolution to change the sewer ordinance to read billings "at a frequency established by a resolution of the Township Board".

Ayes: Slucter, Butler, Towsley, A. St. Clair, J. St. Clair, Blair, Kline

Nays: none

Adopted 7-0

 

Butler gave report from Public Safety Committee meeting.  They will be meeting again on August 23rd at 6:30 PM.

 

Towsley gave report on cemetery vandalism.

 

Roger Benham 6745 Lansdown and Ed Piotrowicz 6737 Lansdown expressed concern over the water problem they are having when we have heavy rains.

 

Merlin Marlatt 7845 E Vermontville and Glen Marlatt 8090 E Vermontville asked what we could do about the large party held there this past weekend in the future. 

 

Alexis Millisor 7262 Lansing Road asked about any progress on the water coming down Billwood.

 

Supervisor shared update on court order on properties owned by Mr. Azzawai.

 

With no further business J. St. Clair moved and Blair seconded to adjourn the meeting.  Carried unanimously.  Adjourned at 8:33 PM.
