July 17, 2008

Roll Call

Present:  Blair, Chappell, Reznick, Rich, Slucter Absent: none Also Present: Denise Parisian, Village Manager; Mike Spitler, WWTP Operator; Art St. Clair, Windsor Township Supervisor; Betsy Kelly, Recording Secretary

Treasurer’s Reports/Bills

Motion by Reznick, second Rich, to accept the treasurer’s report for July 17, 2008 as presented. Motion carried.  Motion by Chappell, second Reznick, to approve payment of $29,703.44 for July17, 2008 bills.  Motion carried.   

Minutes

Motion by Reznick, second Chappell to approve the minutes of the June 19, 2008 regular meeting as amended.  Motion carried.

Superintendent’s Report

Spitler reported on the following: disposition of the outfall pipe after televising and root ball removal; the power outage that affected the Billwood and Lansing Road lift stations and the need to purchase 500 gallons of diesel fuel for the generators.  Parisian mentioned that Spitler is working with Dick Albert on an easement issue for the area involving the outfall pipe.  Slucter suggested a title search for the property in question and Rich stated that copies of the deed could be obtained from the Eaton County Register of Deeds Office.

1.  No old business was presented. 

New Business

1. Blair stated that a change to the meeting schedule would require an amendment to the bylaws as well as the agreement between the two municipalities.  Rich suggested keeping the same schedule and continuing to cancel when there is no business.  Discussion followed regarding electronic communication for reports and the convenience of quarterly meetings.  The members agreed to maintain the current meeting schedule language but meet only as needed on a trial basis to determine the best course of action for the board.  

Motion by Reznick, second Slucter, to adjourn.  Motion carried at 7:57 p.m.
