Old Business
1. Spitler reported that raising the level in the wet well at the
Lansing Road lift station has reduced some of the cavitation of the
pumps and that he will continue to monitor the situation.
2. Reznick stated that the Joint Sewer Planning Committee has not
met since the last Sewer Board meeting. Parisian suggested
removing this item from the agenda until there is activity and the
members concurred.
3. Parisian reported that both the Village Council and Township
Board approved the adoption of the 2006-07 Budget as well as the rate
increase.
New Business
1. Parisian presented a cost analysis worksheet for sludge removal
comparing the rates provided by Synagro ($19,088.36) and Allied
($17,288.64). She explained that the proposals cover the expense
to haul 360,000 gallons of sludge which will empty 3 holding
tanks. Parisian noted that both companies can provide better
pricing with the larger quantity and that Allied is willing to allow
payment in installments. Discussion followed regarding the amount
currently budgeted for sludge removal and other budget items that can
be reduced to cover the additional expense. Motion by Slucter,
second Reznick, to approve the contract with Allied for sludge removal
as presented. Motion carried.
Motion by Blair, second Slucter, to adjourn. Motion carried at
7:16 p.m.
