CELL TOWER PRESENTATION:

Mr. Felde explained that what his company does is to inventory the [communication] towers in the jurisdiction and analyze the terrain and what the needs might be for complete coverage. He can meet with planners or planning commission or both to discuss applications. Our township is strong on the west boarder by I-69 and probably has little need for many more towers. He stated there are 7 carriers that have cell phones. He has not seen abandoned towers as a problem. After an inventory he would review the ordinance and look for any changes and then could review requests as we receive them. The applicants pay all fees and Drew Wireless only work with municipalities; never for carriers.

Hall stated that he felt the cell tower ordinance might need to look at the following areas: a) avoiding all lights, b) heights, c) co-locating.

ZONING ORDINANCE CHANGES:

Bed & Breakfast:

   Decided that the zoning areas are wrong

   Residential areas under a SUP

   By right in O-1, B-1, B-2

   B&B should stand alone/separate from motels, hotels, etc.

Motor Vehicle:

   Discussed how to apply to Waverly/M-99 area

   Will review

Landscape:

   Two Changes are OK and ready to return to the Board

Setbacks:

   Schedule A needs to be completely redone

   Height in B-2

   Add M-1 & M-2

Discussed other areas that need to be reviewed.

With no further business Blair moved and Kubicek second to adjourn the meeting. Carried unanimously. Adjourned at 9:30 PM.
