REGULAR MEETING - MAY 8, 2002

Public Hearing for zoning changes of Landscape Buffering & Adding Bed & Breakfast was called to order by Chairperson Inge Kyler.
Present: Kyler, Martinez, Blair, Slucter, Burnett, Hall, Kubicek

No public present for the purposes of the public hearing.

LANDSCAPE BUFFER:

No public present.

BED & BREAKFAST ADDITION:

Concern from one resident (talked to clerk) about the 250 sq. ft. [requirement] for each room as being too high for a Bed & Breakfast.

Closed public hearing at 7:12 PM.

Regular meeting was called to order at 7:12 PM.

No public present.

Minutes of previous meeting were approved.

Blair gave a report from the Board of Trustees.

Discussion held on Tri-County Planning Meetings.

LABARE REZONING REQUEST:

Mr. LaBare received a building permit in 1997 but did not build at that time. Now he has outgrown his current location and needs more room. In talking to Art [Supervisor St. Clair] he needs to have M-1 (light industrial) zoning. He works on semi trailers. He will have parking to the rear of the new building. One member expressed concern that the rear is a wetland. Mr. LaBare stated that it is not a wetland. There is some buffering already on the site.

Martinez moved and Slucter seconded to set the Public Hearing for the LaBare Rezoning Request from B-1 to M-1 for Wednesday, June 12, 2002 at 7:00 PM. Carried unanimously.

LANDSCAPE/BUFFER:

Martinez moved and Hall seconded to send the Landscape Buffer to the Township Board for adoption. Carried unanimously.

BED & BREAKFAST:

Slucter moved and Hall seconded to table until the June 12th meeting the Bed & Breakfast [zoning ordinance change] until more information can be obtained about room sizes. Carried unanimously.

LAND USE PLAN:

Discussion held on the revisions and [future Land Use] map as presented to the attorney. The committee will write a cover letter and copies of changes will be sent to all of our neighboring communities.

Slucter moved and Blair seconded to set the public hearing for the changes to the Land Use Plan for July 10, 2002 at 7:00 PM. Carried unanimously.

No discussion held on zoning changes due to Vern Fountain not being able to attend tonight's meeting.

With no further business Martinez moved and Kubicek second to adjourn the meeting. Carried unanimously. Adjourned at 8:21 PM.
