Chairperson Richard Slee called the public hearing for the zoning ordinance changes to order.
Present: Slee, Kyler, Blair, Hall, Baker, Martinez, Slucter
Also present: Jim Foulds, Vern Fountain
Jim Foulds explained that we are creating two industrial zonings - one heavy & one light. This will eliminate the need for everything to have Special Use Permits in Industrial. It will give the township more flexibility.
Slucter asked which industrial the current will fall into? They will become M-1 Light.
Blair asked if Special Use Permits would go with them? If non-conforming it would fall under 6.7 pg 105 in current ordinance.
Foulds also stated the following:
The areas of child care & adult foster care is to clean up the current usage and definitions.
The definitions are being redone to make sure that terms match and are clear.

Blair reported from Trustees that the web page now has minutes & agendas. Reported on possible map project by the county. He also reported that board has received an application for development rights, which was tabled until the next meeting. Also working on water districts with Delta Charter Township.
Hall reported that the I-69 group is working on goals and plans for their study.
Martinez moved and Kyler seconded to recommend to the township board to adopt the proposed changes as printed for the zoning ordinance. Carried unanimously.
