Library Board Minutes

September 17, 2009

 

Vice President Linda Conklin called the meeting to order at 7:00PM

Present –Watson, Snyder, Conklin, Freeman, Borucki and Librarian Slee

Excused - Febba

July minutes read silently.   Borucki moved and Freeman seconded that the minutes be approved with the correction of the spelling of Conklin in the last sentence.  Passed 5-0.

Financial reports for July and August were presented – Borucki moved Snyder seconded the motion to approve pending audit with the correction to the Use Tax amount in July’s report changed to $34.02.  Passed 5-0.

112 children signed up for the summer reading program. 33 did not start. 18 finished the first level. 14 finished the second level and 47 finished the 3rd level. Each level required 2 hours of reading. Many thanks to the trustees and friends who donated prizes.

The penal fine check was received in the amount of $34,538.88.

Woodlands Co-op has asked that we not give them half of the State aid check - $1109.

Freeman made a motion to close the library on certain extended holidays. Snyder seconded the motion and it passed 5-0.

New Business

The 2010 budget was presented. Borucki made the motion and Watson seconded to approve the budget as presented. Passed 5-0.

Salary increase of 3% for staff and $500 for Librarian Slee was presented. Snyder made the motion and Borucki seconded. Passed 5-0.

Borucki moved and Snyder seconded the motion to adjourn. Passed 5-0 and meeting adjourned at 7:15PM.
