Library Board Minutes

January 18, 2007

President Linda Conklin called the meeting to order at 7PM.

Present – Conklin, Febba, Watson, Perry, Snyder and Librarian Slee.

Excused – House.

No public comment.

Minutes read silently, no additions or corrections and approved as printed.

Discussion of "Consent Agenda" for future meetings.

Financial Reports for November and December – Febba moved to approve pending audit and Perry seconded the motion to approve – passed 5-0.

Librarian Slee reported that automation should be complete in March or April, pending some training. State Aid annual report has been submitted. She is scheduled for a workshop in February and also in March, in addition to a 3 day workshop in Traverse City May 7,8,9.

At this point 160+ families have signed up for their library card.

Donations were received in December of $235.00.

No committee reports.

Unfinished Business:

Disaster Policy presented by Jackie Perry, compiled from detailed studies of the policies of other libraries, both large and small. The policy as presented was discussed, revised and will be re-worded in some places. Perry will re-do and send to all board members.

New Business:

Librarian Slee requested that the budget be amended as follows because of the automation project.

$2100 from Capital Outlay to Supplies

$200 from Capital Outlay to Audit

$50 from Capital Outlay to Repair

$1000 from Capital Outlay to Miscellaneous

A motion to approve was made by Febba and seconded by Snyder. Passed 5-0

Bylaws- reviewed and discussed by board members. Policies review schedule discussed by board members. Moved to unfinished business for March meeting.

Public Comment – none

Perry moved to adjourn, seconded by Snyder. Passed 5-0. Adjourned 7:54PM.
